The Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LIV, 31-20, using a 21-point 4th quarter to come from behind against the San Francisco 49ers. Virginia Football alum Juan Thornhill, who was picked by the Chiefs in the 2nd round of the 2019 NFL Draft, will win a Super Bowl ring as a result.
Down 20-10 with under nine minutes to play in the 4th quarter, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs went to work. They would score twice — the second touchdown coming with 2:44 left — to take the lead for the final time. Kansas City took over on downs with 1:25 left on the clock, and would score an insurance touchdown to really seal the deal.
