Bronco Mendenhall has a full plate between now and Dec. 19, when BYU faces Utah in the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl. He wouldn’t have it any other way. Mendenhall, hired as Virginia’s coach on Dec. 4, has quite an eccentric background. ESPN.com caught up with the 49-year-old Mendenhall this week to talk about his upbringing, his hobbies, balancing two head-coaching gigs at once and much more.
What have the last few days been like for you, going back and forth?
Bronco Mendenhall: I don’t feel I can describe it. Having my family, we just went up for the press conference (Monday) in Virginia, and one of my sons mentioned, man, is this a dream?
