The Virginia Cavaliers squeaked by what was an undefeated VMI ball club Tuesday evening in a 6-4 victory. In their previous seven games, VMI outscored opponents 98-18, and had stolen the most bags (67) in the country; granted four of those games came against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore who, up until last Saturday, literally hadn’t won a game in over a year and a half (0-48 last season).
Evan Blanco, in his first start of the year, stayed out there for just an inning and got up to 25 pitches which is about what we expected from last year’s Friday night starter.
