There are not a lot of lofty expectations surrounding this year’s Virginia football team as they were selected last in the ACC Coastal by the 148 media members at the recent ACC Football Kickoff.
Now, the conference has released the preseason All-ACC team as voted by those same media members and—shockingly—the Virginia Cavaliers are woefully absent. Only Olamide Zaccheaus’s name is listed after he received one vote for ACC Player of the Year. No Cavaliers were selected to any of the offensive, defensive, or specialty All-ACC teams.
Clemson, the favorite to win the conference again, led the way with eight players selected (including their entire defensive line), followed by Boston College with four players selected, Miami and NC State with three each, and Duke and Florida State with a pair or players named.
