The No. 9 Virginia Cavaliers improved to 3-0 on the season on Saturday afternoon with a 60-42 win over the Columbia Lions. Three Virginia players finished in double digits as Jay Huff and Mamadi Diakite each had 13 points, and Kihei Clark added 10 points and five rebounds. Huff had a big day defensively as he matched his career-high in blocks with five.
Virginia shot 41% from the field and an improved 36% from beyond the arc. The Cavaliers got 20 points off the bench and 30 points in the paint, but still struggled getting shots to drop at times.
