DURHAM, N.C. — Virginia left Cameron Indoor Stadium with yet another close loss. The way this one ended might have made it even tougher for the Cavaliers to take.
Duke beat the seventh-ranked Cavaliers 63-62 Saturday on Grayson Allen’s acrobatic shot at the buzzer.
Virginia has lost 17 straight on the road to Duke, with the last three coming by a combined eight points.
“We definitely wanted it,” guard Malcolm Brogdon said. “I don’t know if it stings more — a loss is a loss, and this is a team we wanted to beat.”
Brogdon had 18 points for Virginia (20-5, 9-4 Atlantic Coast Conference), and his reverse flip layup with 9.
