The Virginia men’s lacrosse team’s struggles with ACC foes continued today as the Hoos couldn’t overcome a sluggish start on offense, falling to No. 12 Syracuse, 12-11. Virginia lost midfielder Ryan Conrad to a knee injury in the first quarter, affecting the Hoos on both sides of the ball and at the face off X.
Alex Rode was phenomenal in cage for Virginia with 15 saves and a 56% save percentage, and Mike D’Amario had three goals for the Hoos. Virginia trailed by as many as five in the fourth quarter, rallying to tie the game on a Conners long stick goal with 1:41 to play.
