With the No. 1 ranking, the Virginia Cavaliers went on the road and picked up a decisive 59-50 victory over the Miami Hurricanes. DeAndre Hunter led the way for the Hoos with 22 points and Kyle Guy had a very efficient night with 13 points on 5-for-9 shooting.
As a team, Virginia shot 45.8% from the field and 35.5% from three, but turned the ball over 10 times. The Hoos moved the ball well on offense, getting 15 assists on 22 made field goals.
Miami’s Chris Lykes led the Hurricanes with a career-high 19 points.
