DJ Durkin has turned back the clock toward Maryland's ACC roots, as the new Terrapins head coach has announced a pair of former ACC head coaches among his first hires.
Former Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer will be Maryland's defensive coordinator while former Virginia coach Mike London will be the Terps' associate head coach and defensive line coach. Both coaches were fired this season from the Orange and Cavaliers, respectively, as each program went 4-8.
Durkin also added Aazaar Abdul-Rahim from Alabama as Maryland's defensive backs coach, and Rick Court from Mississippi State as the Terps' strength and conditioning coach.
