Virginia's Ryan Shane captured the 2015 NCAA Tennis Men's Singles title on Sunday, defeating Wake Forest's Noah Rubin 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-1. Shane becomes just the second Cavalier to capture the men's singles title, behind Somdev Devvarman who completed the feat in 2007 and 2008.
Shane, who was down the first set 2-5 before a rain delay sent the players indoors, where he ultimately dropped the first set 3-6. Wake Forest's Rubin had the opportunity to win the match on his own serve, up 4-5, before something clicked in Shane that allowed the junior to break Rubin's serve and win the second set in a tiebreak, 7-4.
