Every so often Major League Baseball will flex an affiliate game and offer it for free on their streaming platform, MLB.tv., for sickos like me who will sit and watch nine innings of an Eastern League game. Because last Tuesday night’s game between the Somerset Patriots (Yankees Double-A) and the Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox Double-A) featured four MLB top-100 prospects, it was a prime opportunity to showcase the future of baseball’s most historic rivalry.
Last year’s ACC Player of the Year and 14th overall pick, Kyle Teel, started behind the plate and hit third in Portland’s order behind fellow top prospects Roman Anthony and Marcelo Mayer.
