Three months ago, the Virginia Cavaliers took home the program’s first NCAA title in men’s basketball with an 85-77 overtime victory over Texas Tech. The dramatic win capped off a six-game stretch that featured a second-half comeback to avoid utter disaster (Gardner-Webb), a comfortable win (Oklahoma), a defensive slug-fest (Oregon), an epic shootout (Purdue), and a clutch performance at the free throw line (Auburn).
It was the last time we got to see the Big Three of De’Andre Hunter, Ty Jerome, and Kyle Guy play together, and it sent fifth year big man Jack Salt out with a title.
