The pace of college lacrosse is only getting faster and, with that, the importance of a strong rope unit of defensive midfielders continues to grow.
It’s the most valuable position group in lacrosse. The guys who dig in on defense, aren’t afraid to eat multiple wrap checks while punt returning a clear, set the tone in practice every day, and always run through tough ground balls no matter the physical price.
They’re the energy bringers. The glue guys.
For the Virginia Cavaliers, it’s a position of strength this season and will need to be heavily relied upon, even on the offensive end.
