After beginning the weekend with two straight victories the Cavaliers came back to earth on Sunday, dropping the weekend finale to Coastal Carolina, 5-4.
The writing was somewhat on the wall on Friday after UVa took an 8-0 lead into the 9th inning against Kent St only to watch the UVa bullpen allow the Flash back into the game with 6 runs in the final frame. A similar story played out with Coastal on Sunday.
The good news is the Hoos got another strong start from their starting pitcher, Tommy Doyle. The 2nd year held the Chanticleers to just two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings.
