Behind 14 points from ACC Player of the Year candidate and Oscar Robertson Trophy finalist Malcolm Brogdon, Virginia holds a six-point lead over the Clemson Tigers, 33-27.
Virginia's 12-0 run to start the game made the game look like an early runaway. By the time the under-16 media timeout arrived, Brogdon and London Perrantes had each hit a three-point basket and Clemson was yet to put anything through the rim.
But Clemson responded with an 8-0 run of its own to close the gap. Jarron Blossomgame matched Brogdon's 14 points to pace the Tigers, and Landry Nnoko chipped in 4 rebounds as well.
