Gretchen Walsh wins first Olympic gold medal in mixed 4x100 medley relay

Gretchen Walsh is officially an Olympic gold medalist!

The star swimmer for the Virginia Cavaliers added her first career gold medal to her pair of silvers as the butterfly leg of Team USA’s mixed 4x100 medley relay team on Saturday. Alongside Ryan Murphy, Nick Fink, and Torri Huske, Walsh helped to set a world record time of 3:37.43.

This is Walsh’s third Olympic medal in her first Olympic appearance.
