The Virginia Cavaliers improved to 6-4 on the season with a 59-41 win over the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats on a sleepy Thursday evening inside John Paul Jones Arena. Despite the lopsided final score and a win that broke UVA’s two-game losing skid, Thursday’s performance did little to inspire much confidence.
Virginia managed to score just 18 points in an opening half that featured more UVA turnovers (eight) than made field goals (seven). With under eight minutes to play in the first half, the ’Hoos found themselves trailing 12-3 and in the midst of a 10+ minute field-goal drought.
