The Virginia Cavaliers entered the weekend looking for some momentum after an underwhelming showing in Puerto Rico. Instead, they fell twice and will travel back to Charlottesville with a 3-3 record.
The disappointment began on Friday night, when the ‘Hoos were outmatched by No. 7 Oregon State, falling 7-2 after jumping out to an early lead. UVA’s lone win of the weekend came on Saturday, rallying past Minnesota 4-2 behind some quality pitching.
The Cavaliers struck first once again on Sunday’s contest, piecing together a three-run second inning, highlighted by a Luke Hanson two-run single.
