Former Virginia golfer Lauren Coughlin finished seventh in the event’s Qualifying School, earning her one of the 20 available LPGA Tour cards.
She will be one of just eight rookies on the tour, and finished tied for 33rd in the Symetra Tour to earn a spot in the “Stage III” final phase. In the final phase, Coughlin finished tied for 7th place with a 6-under 354 over the course of the five-round event.
Coughlin had a familiar face as her caddy as she clinched her spot on the tour, her former UVA Golf coach Kim Lewellen.
Coughlin helped the Hoos clinch the 2016 ACC Championship with an outstanding performance that placed first in the conference, then received a different kind of ring:
One other Wahoo alum - Brittany Altomare - will be on the LPGA Tour with Coughlin.
