Week one of college football is here!
After a long off-season, the Virginia Cavaliers finally take the field this weekend for the first time in 2024. The ‘Hoos roll into week one off a competitive fall camp with numerous position battles, most notably at the quarterback position as head coach Tony Elliott made the decision late last week to name true sophomore Anthony Colandrea the starter leading into the team’s opener against the Richmond Spiders.
Russ Huesman’s Richmond team enters the year ranked 15th in FCS and returns plenty of All-CAA talent. The Spiders finished with a 9-4 overall record, having lost just one game in-conference a year ago.
