The Virginia Cavaliers women’s basketball team travelled to San Juan over Thanksgiving weekend to participate in the ‘Discover Puerto Rico Shootout.’ The trip did not go as planned, however, as the ’Hoos dropped two of their three games to fall to 6-3 on the season.
UVA began its weekend with a nail-biting 66-61 win over Green Bay on Thursday morning before suffering consecutive losses on Friday and Saturday to Washington State and Wyoming, respectively. The ’Hoos dug themselves into large deficits in each of the two losses before making furious comeback efforts that ultimately would come up just short.
