The Virginia Cavaliers coasted to a 78-51 win over Rider on Wednesday night inside John Paul Jones Arena. Here are five takeaways from the Wahoos’ third-straight victory.
UVA easily overcame another slow start
Virginia shot just 2-for-16 from the floor in the first quarter and found themselves trailing Rider 15-11 after the opening period. The Broncs’ 3-2 zone threw the ‘Hoos off a little bit early on, but Coach Mox’s squad quickly settled down.
The ‘Hoos shot a solid 45% from the floor the rest of the way and outscored Rider by at least nine points in each of the game’s final three quarters.
