It was far from the smoothest week for the Virginia Cavaliers baseball team. This started on Tuesday where the ‘Hoos were upset on the road at the hands of Old Dominion, 7-4, marking their first midweek loss in two years. They bounced back the following day with an 11-5 victory over George Mason but the struggles continued over the weekend against unranked (at the time) Georgia Tech.
UVA was run-ruled on Friday, 12-3, and gave up 17 runs in a somehow narrow loss on Sunday. They scraped out an 8-7 extra innings win on Saturday, which avoided a sweep.
