After Jay Woolfolk’s decision to focus on baseball only in the 2023 offseason, the Virginia Cavaliers football program was left with Tony Muskett and Anthony Colandrea as scholarship quarterbacks. As expected, Muskett began the year at the top of the depth chart. Head coach Tony Elliott never outright declared Colandrea as QB1, though. In his eyes, Muskett did not lose the job. This spring, Elliott has given both signal callers equal first-team reps and claimed that they should simply “go out and ball.
