Did you know that Squash is not an official NCAA sport? I didn’t. It isn’t run by NCAA, it is run by the College Squash Association, which also runs club squash. There are only around 30 varsity programs each for men and women. Virginia and Stanford are the only major conference schools with full varsity squash programs, plus Georgetown has a women’s team only.
The Virginia Cavaliers’ program only moved to varsity in 2017, so it is still very much a young program building itself up. As the program continues to develop, they should see an increase in fan support similar to what Tennis achieved upon becoming a national powerhouse.
