Virginia's 2016 football recruiting class landed its eighth commitment Friday morning as three star tight end Andrew Trainer from Alexandria's St. Stephens & St. Agnes School committed to the Hoos. UVa was the first major program to offer Trainer back in 2014 and he chose the Virginia over numerous offers from other major programs including Illinois, NC State, Pittsburgh and Wake Forest.
Trainer has great pass catching ability as well as the size to serve as an effective blocker in the Cavaliers' run oriented attack. Listed at 6'7" and 240 pounds Trainer already looks the part of a Division I tight end and should be in a position to compete for playing time as soon as he steps on Grounds.
