Following their loss to the BYU Cougars two weeks ago, it looked like the Boise State Broncos would have a hard time getting back to another New Year’s Six bowl this season. Things seemed to get a lot more difficult once quarterback Ryan Finley went down with a devastating ankle injury last week and he would be out for the next eight weeks.
Friday night, Brett Rypien made his first collegiate start of his career against the Virginia Cavaliers. He needed to come out and prove that he could play well and what better way to do that than against a Power Five conference team on the road.
