In an expected move, Virginia Cavaliers senior point guard Reece Beekman has announced that he is declaring for the 2024 NBA Draft and will be foregoing his final year of (Covid-19) eligibility. After testing the waters of the draft cycle last spring and then electing to return to Charlottesville for his fourth year, it was always expected that the 2023-2024 season would be his final one in college.
Beekman’s announcement comes a day after Ryan Dunn also announced that he is “all in,” for the NBA Draft. With that, two of UVA’s most important players this past season are officially gone for the program, emphasizing just how important this offseason and the next few weeks in particular will be for rebuilding the roster for 2024-2025 and beyond.
