Blake Miller has resigned as Virginia's softball coach after three seasons on the job, UVA athletic director Craig Littlepage announced today.
Miller went a combined 42-116 while in Charlottesville, while amassing a 12-59 record in conference play. The program's downturn precedes Miller's arrival three years ago, as the Cavaliers have just one winning season (26-25 in 2012) since going 34-23 in 2010. They haven't made the NCAA tournament in six years.
"While the program showed improvement, I believe a change is necessary for Virginia softball to be in a position to be competitive, first in the conference and then on the national stage," Littlepage said in a release.
