Andres Pedroso named new Virginia men’s tennis coach

Less than 24 hours removed from the Virginia men’s tennis program’s third straight NCAA championship and fourth all-time, the athletic department wasted little time in naming the team’s next head coach.

Former associate head coach Andres Pedroso will replace Brian Boland at the helm of the program, effective next Tuesday. Pedroso has additionally been named director of tennis, giving him additional responsibilities involving the women’s team. Boland announced on March 29 that he would leave Virginia at the end of his 16th year in charge of the program to work with the U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) Player Development as head of men’s tennis.
