We have made it. The dog days of the offseason are over and it’s finally game preview time. The Virginia Cavaliers will host Richmond to kickoff the 2024 football season.
Against an FCS foe, even one ranked in the top-15, it is important to see UVA take care of business in year three (!) of the Tony Elliott era. Many folks have this penciled in as an under-the-radar upset, but it is easier to believe that Vegas’ 19.5 point spread is more accurate.
Ultimately, the focus will not be as much about trying to hang 50, but rather avoiding penalties and mistakes, moving the ball consistently, and staying assignment sound on defense.
