Linebacker Micah Kiser was selected No. 147 overall by the Los Angeles Rams, making him Virginia’s first pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Kiser led the ACC in tackles for three straight seasons and was named the 2017 Campbell Trophy and Dudley Award winner. He’s a strong, tough player who doesn’t shy away from contact and flies all over the field.
His list of accomplishments in 2017 is impressive:
- Walter Camp All-American second-team
- Football Writers Association of America All-American second-team
- USA Today All-American second-team
- Associated Press All-American third-team
- CBS Sports All-American second-team
- SB Nation All-American second-team
- Phil Steele All-American second-team
- College Football News All-American second-team
- All-ACC first-team
- Campbell Trophy Winner (Academic Heisman)
- Dudley Award winner
- Butkus Award Semifinalist
- Lott IMPACT Trophy Finalist
The Rams play a 3-4 defense, and Kiser could realistically see significant playing time immediately, especially since LA recently traded Alec Ogletree to the New York Giants.
