The 2018 MLB draft kicks off tonight at 7 PM. For the 5th year in a row the Cavalier baseball team could see one of their own taken in the first round with both Jake McCarthy and Daniel Lynch both being eyed by MLB teams.
3rd year outfielder Jake McCarthy was previously drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 23rd round prior to coming to UVa. The outfielder has lived up to the expectations many placed upon him after his brother left by hitting .337 with 50 RBI and a .423 on base percentage.
