The Villanova Wildcats heated up in the second half and hardly looked back after that, defeating the Marquette Golden Eagles, 96-64.
Although Villanova led for a vast majority of the game, Marquette kept it close, especially in the first half. A Caleb Daniels three just before the buzzer gave the Wildcats a 40-32 edge at the break.
Afterwards, the Wildcats found their rhythm from deep, starting the second half with a 7-of-9 showing from deep, a scoring spurt that included a series of back-to-back-to-back three-pointers by Jeremiah Robinson-Earl.
Villanova pushed its lead to as high as 33 points and coasted to the final buzzer.
