Villanova’s Jalen Brunson named Naismith Player of the Year

It was announced on Sunday that the Wildcats’ point guard has won the Naismith Trophy for College Basketball’s Player of the Year.

After claiming the AP’s Player of the Year Award and the Oscar Robertson Player of the Year Award earlier in the week, Brunson completes the College Player of the Year Treble with the most prestigious.

The Lincolshire, IL native has average 19.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists across 39 games for Villanova this season. He beat out Deandre Ayton (Arizona), Devonte Graham (Kansas), and Marvin Bagley III (Duke) for the award.
