Villanova’s fast start sets tone in 81-58 win over St. John’s

After a devastating loss on Feb. 3, The No. 8 Wildcats got their revenge Tuesday night, defeating St. John’s 81-58. Villanova shot 48% from the floor and made 11 three-pointers.

Villanova came out on a mission, shooting 50% from the field and 43% from three in the first half. The Wildcats’ fast start set the tone for the rest of the game and kept St. John’s playing catch-up throughout. Caleb Daniels led the team with 17 points and was 4-of-6 three point shooting.

In their first matchup, the Red Storm held Colin Gillespie to just four points with constant defensive pressure and harassment by freshman Posh Alexander.
