Rollie Massimino named finalist for Basketball Hall of Fame

Rollie Massimino who coached Villanova to the school’s first National Championship in 1985 has been named one of 14 finalists for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s Class of 2017.

Massimino who is the current head coach at Keiser University, an NAIA school in West Palm Beach, is a finalist for the first time.

Other first-time Hall of Fame finalists include longtime Chris Webber, Hugh Evans, Rebecca Lobo, Tracy McGrady, Sidney Moncrief, Baylor women's coach Kim Mulkey, Kansas coach Bill Self and two-time NBA champion coach Rudy Tomjanovich.

If Massimino was to get the nod, he would join George Raveling, Paul Arizin, and Hank Nichols representing Villanova in the Hall of Fame.
