CBS writer Matt Norlander is reporting that the Michigan Wolverines are withdrawing from the 2020 Empire Classic and, pending contracts being signed, should be replaced by the Arizona State Sun Devils.
The event, formerly known as the 2K Sports Classic, was originally supposed to include Baylor and NC State alongside the ‘Cats and Michigan. Since then, Boston College has been confirmed as a replacement for the Wolfpack.
With COVID-19 rescheduling, the event- which was originally scheduled to be played at Madison Square Garden on November 19th & 20th- will now move to Mohegan Sun in Southeastern Connecticut and played on November 25th and 26th.
