For all of you college football fans, you might be familiar with the CHAOS concept that took the country by storm this fall. With just four spots available for the College Football Playoff, every week had fans not only rooting for their team to win, but for others to lose to crappy teams. Chaos largely ensured, and the CFB Playoff Rankings seemed to change weekly.
There's an easy comparison to the vaunted 1-seed in college basketball's NCAA Tournament, and we're starting to see a similar chaos pattern develop in the weekly voter rankings, as well as the Bracketology projections: For the most part, the top teams aren't necessarily picking up the prototypical bad losses (as in an RPI-killer) now that we're in the heart of the conference season.
