Thanks to St. John’s win over Marquette last night, Villanova nows holds a 2-game lead in the loss column over Wojo’s boys in the Big East standings. That feels commanding, but the ‘Cats and Warriors have yet to play this season and the conference title is still up for grabs.
Before we can get to that matchup this weekend, Villanova has to handle Creighton on Wednesday night. ‘Nova registered an impressive double-digit road win in Omaha back in mid-January.
The Bluejays finally appear to be off the snide having gone 3-2 in their last five games since that loss, and desperately could use a resume-building win over the top team in the Big East.
