Trevor Keels took the slow and steady approach to his college recruitment, and kept a rather low profile before announcing his commitment date and official final four list.
He originally planned on making a decision on Sunday, before opting to move it up to Friday afternoon on ESPN2 during a GEICO high school nationals semifinal game.
Now, the wait is finally over.
Keels, a consensus five-star prospect in the class of 2021, has chosen Duke over Kentucky, Villanova, and Virginia.
“All four coaches are hall of famers in my eyes, but that connection I had with Coach K was different,” Keels said of his decision to pick Duke over the other schools in his final four list.
