On June 30th of 2017, top-100 forward Cole Swider committed to play for the Villanova Wildcats coming in as a Class of 2018 recruit. Swider committed to play for Jay Wright and the Wildcats over Xavier, Duke and Syracuse. His commitment provided as a massive recruiting victory for Wright and his staff over two Villanova rivals and a blue blood program.
Swider, and Providence-commit A.J. Reeves, were the two of eight candidates, recently chosen to compete in the American Family Insurance 3- point contest at the Final Four which will take place in San Antonio.
Although Villanova offered Reeves, the 6’5” 180 pound shooting guard proved himself as strong guard with a good shot and the ability to drive to the hoop.
