The Villanova Wildcats are heading to the Final Four. The No. 2 seeded Wildcats defeated the No. 1 seeded Kansas Jayhawks 64-59 Saturday night. It's the fifth time Villanova has made the Final Four. Their last appearance came in 2009.
The game was close throughout, despite Villanova leading by seven at the half. The Jayhawks trailed by two with 2:16 left to play, and cut the lead to one twice with less than 30 seconds left. But, the Wildcats hit their free throws and a late KU turnover sealed the win.
Four Wildcats had at least 10 points. Josh Hart had the way with 13 points for Nova, as did Kris Jenkins. On his birthday, Ryan Arcidiacono had 13 points and several big free throws late.
Kansas needed a big game from Perry Ellis but didn't get one. He had five rebounds, but also just four points and four turnovers. Devonte' Graham helped pick up the slack. Graham had 17 points and seven rebounds. He hit five 3-pointers, but fouled out in the final minute after a questionable trip call when Graham dove for a loose ball. Frank Mason added 16 for KU, as did Wayne Selden 16.
Nova will get the Oklahoma Sooners in the Final Four next weekend. The Sooners beat the Oregon Ducks earlier Saturday.
