Defenseman Zach Whitecloud called the Vegas Golden Knights’ play late in the 3-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens atypical.
“It just kind of felt like we sat back a little bit too much going into the third,” Whitecloud said. “Typically, to our identity, we’re still playing on our toes and pushing the pace. And they did a good job coming through the neutral zone and, I think, creating some pressure on our end.”
Whitecloud also credited the Canadiens’ forecheck, calling it “very good.” He also added that the team took advantage of the Golden Knights’ passive play late in the game.
