VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Shea Theodore scored the deciding goal in the shootout and the Golden Knights defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-4 Tuesday at Rogers Arena.
The Canucks had rallied from a 4-1 early third-period deficit to tie it as Nikolay Goldobin scored his second of the game with 9:07 to play.
The Knights thought they had won it in earlier overtime but Tomas Tatar’s goal was disallowed due to goaltender interference. Colin Miller nearly won it with 8.3 to go in OT but Jacob Markstrom made an outstanding glove save to deny him.
Theodore, shooting in the fourth round, made a nice move and beat Markstrom with a backhand to win it as the Knights improved to 51-22-7 and 109 points.
