Gardner Minshew will be the Las Vegas Raiders' starting quarterback in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers, coach Antonio Pierce announced Sunday.
Minshew, who signed with the Raiders as a free agent this offseason, was competing with Aidan O'Connell for the job.
O'Connell finished last season as the Raiders' starting quarterback, guiding the Raiders to a 5-5 record when Pierce was the team's interim coach.
