Luca Sbisa registered a hat trick of sorts. But not the kind you celebrate.
The 27-year-old Golden Knights defenseman is headed back to injured-reserve for the third time this season after undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured tendon on the middle finger of his left hand. Sbisa is expected to miss six to eight weeks.
Sbisa was injured during Friday’s 5-4 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. He had been involved in a fight with John Hayden 6:25 into the second period and later in the period blocked a shot of Brandon Saad. He did not return for the third period and did not play in Sunday’s 2-1 win over the New York Rangers.
