Brandon Pirri is headed back to Chicago.
The forward has been reassigned to the Golden Knights affiliate in the American Hockey League to make space on the roster for the return of Max Pacioretty from injured reserve.
Pacioretty will be in the lineup against the Anaheim Ducks when the Knights play a 7 p.m. road game Friday at Honda Center.
Pirri had six goals and three assists in seven games for the Knights since being recalled on Dec. 19. The 27-year-old led the AHL in points when he was called up to the NHL roster.
