Golden Knights set NHL record for expansion team with 34th win

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — The Golden Knights made hockey history with their 34th win of the season Thursday night, as David Perron scored with 1:03 remaining in overtime for a 3-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets.

The Knights broke the NHL record for expansion teams of 33 wins set by the 1993-94 Florida Panthers and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Both teams did it in 84 games. The Knights won their 34th in their 50th game.

Kyle Connor scored with 2:36 left to pull the Jets even 2-2, after Erik Haula’s second-period power-play goal had given the Knights a 2-1 lead.
