The Golden Knights lost several pieces of depth as NHL free agency began Monday.
Bottom-six forward Ryan Carpenter signed with the Chicago Blackhawks and American Hockey League pieces Daniel Carr and Maxime Lagace reportedly agreed to deals with other teams.
Carpenter, 28, played in 104 games with the Knights after being claimed off waivers in December 2017 and proved to be a versatile piece on the team’s third and fourth lines. He had a career-high 18 points last season and earned a three-year, $3 million contract ($1 million average annual value) with the Blackhawks.
Carr, the reigning AHL MVP, agreed to a deal with the Nashville Predators, according to Sportsnet.
